The Julia Britton Hooks Fellowship provides educators across various teaching environments with a unique opportunity to incorporate Kentucky’s diverse history into their curriculum. This fellowship fosters collaboration with the Association through engagement in events from July through June, supporting educators in broadening perspectives and deepening historical understanding.
Fellows will:
- Access resources for teaching Kentucky’s rich and multifaceted history
- Participate in both in-person and virtual professional development sessions
- Collaborate with educators from across the Commonwealth
- Develop content and lead discussions on historical narratives that reflect multiple perspectives
- Bring their enhanced knowledge back to their schools, classrooms, and communities
Who Should Apply:
- Kentucky-based educators with two or more years of teaching experience
- Those interested in designing inquiry-based instructional materials that highlight the complexity of Kentucky’s history
- Educators with a commitment to fostering inclusive historical narratives in their classrooms
- Individuals with the desire and ability to travel for conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities
